My father used to play 2pac, Lil Wayne, Akon, and 50 Cent around me, which greatly inspired me. -How did you come to develop your style? My style was always a mix of everything I loved since I was a child, meaning video games such as Zelda, Mario, League of Legends, etc.… as well as anime and crazy fashion. I love incorporating these different aspects into my music to make it as “Sonoshee” as possible. -Which artists inspire you the most? I don’t have one specific artist that inspired me, I can be inspired by anything when it comes to music. I could have a situation going on in my life and I’d be inspired to make a song about it in the same second!  Since I’m extremely versatile, I take a bit of inspiration from everywhere and try to be original. I’m more inspired by songs from a specific genre rather than the artist itself. XXXtentacion, Playboi Carti, and Trippie Redd were three notable artists who influenced me when I first started sharing my songs in 2016 on SoundCloud. -Being that you are an Arab artist who is inspired by the cloud rap movement, do you see yourself using elements from both cultures to create something new? Of course! I love to mix different elements in my music, I’ve recently started making Arabic songs to embrace my culture and heritage so that’s something I’ll drop soon. I love to show off my versatility through different languages and cultures since I’m mixed, you can see for instance my track “No Hesi” has French bars as well. -How has your experience been with Dubai’s creative/music scene so far? My experience with the Dubai music scene is super eventful and hectic and I ABSOLUTELY love that because I love keeping myself busy and progressing. So, Dubai life suits me from that aspect since there are always events and new things popping up. I also love the fact that there are a lot of people from all around the world coming here. I just wish the music industry would be more well-equipped and developed for artists like me and all the other talented rappers from The UAE to allow them to reach a larger audience. -Who are 5 people you aspire to collaborate with? When it comes to mainstream artists, I’d love to work with Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti, Doja Cat, Kanye West, Bladee, and Gazo. -What song of yours is your favorite so far and why? I have 2-3 favorite songs depending on the mood and all of them have not yet been released because I want to drop them under the perfect condition. But I'll give you a hint of what genre they are: One is Plug Rap, Rap, and one Amapiano. To be honest, it’s hard to pick one because each song is so different from the other. -Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself touring the world, being able to put out big production projects, and being able to make good profit from what I do. “What is the inspiration behind your latest single “Broke”? The idea behind BROKE is to stay true to yourself and that money comes and goes. I’ve been in love with making new wave rap and I played this tune to Seki Suppervillain a while back, he loved it and wanted to work on it immediately. Honestly, teaming up with one of my favorite artists in the UAE was super cool because we have similar styles in music, and our aesthetics match. We decided to work on a music video with our team after that and it was super smooth and fun, it barely felt like work because that’s what I’m passionate about, we all knew exactly what to do and what to expect. I think our original style was beautifully portrayed in our latest music video which will be released in a few days. I’m super excited because this song has hints of everything that inspires me. What do you have in store for the rest of this year? After I dropped two songs this month, I’m focused on planning my next drop, the BROKE music video. While also making new music and exploring new genres and sounds. It's going to be very interesting when everything aligns. As legendary as these customers were, perhaps none were as pivotal as Lori Lynn. She was working as an art director when she crossed paths with Richard at a fish market in Malibu. Lori Lynn's entry into Chrome Hearts marked a significant turning point for the brand. She assumed roles in marketing, and photography, and spearheaded the introduction of ready-to-wear collections. Perse liked Chrome Hearts enough to stock some of their pieces at Maxfield, a crucial move because Maxfield is open to the general public and boasts a clientele that includes celebrities beyond just rock and roll stars. This exposure at Maxfield helped Chrome Hearts gain broader visibility and appeal. This led to a significant surge in popularity, with Chrome Hearts soon being stocked at prestigious locations like Bergdorf Goodman and featured in Vogue campaigns. Chrome Hearts was now gaining mainstream recognition and on the verge of another major breakthrough. In 1992, Richard Stark received a phone call from the Council of Fashion Designers of America informing him that he had won the award for Best Accessories Designer. For anyone familiar with American fashion, winning a CFDA prize is a highly esteemed honor. However, Richard Stark doesn't identify himself as a fashion designer; he sees himself more as a craftsman. So, when he received the call, he didn't recognize the CFDA and mistook it for a telemarketing call. Richard amusingly recalls that the CFDA asked him to choose a celebrity to present the award to him. He had someone specific in mind but refused to disclose the name to the CFDA. And he told them that if they didn't trust him, they should hire their own backup. As we now know, Richard picked pop icon Cher to present the award, saying, "I think she's extremely talented." Richard Stark, despite his initial indifference towards the award, now acknowledges its pivotal role in catapulting Chrome Hearts into the spotlight. Winning the CFDA prize brought significant attention to the brand, attracting new admirers including influential designers like Rei Kawakubo, the visionary behind Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market. It sets them apart from countless other brands inspired by grunge aesthetics. Given their extensive custom work, signature design elements are essential for ensuring their creations are instantly recognizable. Chrome Hearts has indeed mastered its own unique style, which makes their collaborations particularly intriguing. Richard Stark himself prefers not to use the term "collaboration" in the conventional sense. For him, these projects are opportunities to collaborate with individuals he genuinely respects and wants to work with, on projects that truly inspire him. In recent years, the term "collaboration" has taken on a commercialized meaning that doesn't fully align with Chrome Hearts' authentic approach. So for this editorial, let's adopt Richard Stark's perspective on collaborations. Beyond the spontaneous partnerships with iconic rock bands mentioned earlier, one of Chrome Hearts' earliest significant collaborations occurred with the Rolling Stones in 2002. Despite their deep ties to the rock and roll scene by then, the Starks had surprisingly never met any members of the Rolling Stones when they agreed to create tour gear for the band. This collaboration included a diamond-studded belt shaped like the band's iconic logo, specifically crafted for Mick Jagger.     Abdulrahman Al-Mana, an award-winning Qatari filmmaker, was a key organizer for both the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup. He earned recognition as one of the Best Three Directors at the Greece Athena Film Festival. Al-Mana graduated with honors in Film and TV Production from Keele University, UK, through a country-sponsored scholarship supporting Qatar’s Vision 2030 to localize film production. His journey began in his youth, with a love for movies and storytelling. In this interview, he shares his experiences from the World Cup, his favorite award, and his vision for elevating Arab cinema and more. Can you tell us about your first experience with film? When did you realize that filmmaking was your true passion? Growing up I have always been fascinated by film. Movies were my window to discover people’s cultures and environments, it was my window to the world in general. I have been mostly reading stories and watching visual stories. I was passionate about how Movies and series stories bloomed into different trajectories from the beginning to the end. This passion has triggered me to discover more about scriptwriting. Meanwhile, filmmaking was another story as I was curious about, how the film itself was produced and how it was made. When I saw filmmakers making films independently, I followed the process from creating stories and characters to bringing life into them into a film. Since the moment I produced my first short film, I enjoyed and wanted to make more creative stories. With Qatar and other nations in the region aiming to diversify their economies and expand non-oil industries, how do you see the role of film contributing to this transformation? There is a significant and noticeable development and improvement in the film industry in Qatar and people generally are very optimistic about it. His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani the Emir of Qatar has announced that the production will be reliant entirely on local production in terms of economic, social, environmental, film, and media industries as part of “Qatar Vision 2030”. Therefore, my main motivation not only in filmmaking but in my whole career in general is to be part of “Qatar Vision 2030” and build a bright future for Doha. In your view, what key developments or changes are necessary for Arab cinema to reach the next level on the global stage? Filmmaking offers a huge opportunity to create awareness and really touch people.  However, it is one of the dynamic and creative processes that combine scriptwriting, Pre-production, production, post-production, and marketing. In my opinion, the key to development is to spread the film culture more widely through the regain، could be through courses, workshops, and film festivals, or even universities.  Your films have received numerous awards at prestigious international film festivals. Is there one particular award that holds special significance for you, and why? I’m glad and proud to be among the first Qatari graduates in film production through a scholarship sponsored by the country. Also, my films have been screened and awarded in international global film festivals, including the Dubai Film Festival Manchester Film Festival, and the Swedish International Film Festival. However, my recent achievement was receiving the award of Best Three Directors with honors mention, out of 400 projects and directors worldwide at the Athena Film Festival.  This achievement has generated a lot of positive impact in the Middle East, considered to be one of the first Middle Easterners to achieve it. Reflecting on your experience with the 2022 World Cup, what stands out as your most memorable moment during the event's organization? World Cup Qatar 2022 has shown a significant positive impact on the region and its people. I was officially one of the organizers and part of the media team at the World Cup event. This role was a great opportunity to meet the football fans and hear their positive thoughts. All the fans were amazed at the stadiums, the tourist locations, and the smooth transportation. However, being one of the official organizers this role helped me to improve my management skills and organizing events. I can tell surely it was one of the best experiences I had. Of all the films you’ve directed, which one holds a special place in your heart, and why? I have worked on many films and projects, but “Commitment is an Act not a Word” is my favorite project so far, due to the positive reactions from people and the media in general, and the distinctive artistic path that contributed to enhancing understanding and health awareness among the public. Looking back on your journey as a filmmaker, what is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned along the way? The main lesson I have learned not only in my filmmaking career but also in my life, in general, is to make your ambitions always high and far.
